The only problem with "going it alone" is that you
don't know how to tint windows. Or maybe you
have limited experience, but still aren't confident
enough to tint the car or home of your dreams. If

The window tinting business has proved itself to be lucrative
for many entrepreneurs. Many have started their businesses
with very little capital. Some have started in their own
garage or backyard.
The business boom of window tinting in the last decade is
unprecedented in the industry's history. With the average
profit margin for a 4 door car at about $100, the profit
potential for opening a tinting business is very, very good.
Just open up your local yellow pages and look under
"window tinting". You are sure to find many local tint shops
competing for your business. So how do all these
entrepreneurs gain the know how to open their own
businesses?
Many learn as an apprentice at another shop. However, to
avoid creating competition, most tint shops require new
employees to sign non-compete agreements. These legal,
binding documents prevent employees from opening their
own tinting business after learning the trade from someone
else for 2-5 years.
Some purchase existing businesses which sometimes
command over $100,000.
Others might attend window tinting training seminars that
charge between $2,000 and $5,000 to attend for 1-2
