Common Tinting Questions
Q: Does the tint go on the outside or inside?
A: Window film is cut out on the outside but it is
installed on the inside of glass.
Q: Does all tint bubble up and turn purple?
A: No. Window film has evolved in the 5-10 years to
the point where manufacturers now offer lifetime
warranties. Quality window film will in most cases
outlive the vehicles it is installed on.
Q: Is window tinting really as difficult as some say
it is?
A: Window tinting, especially automotive window tinting,
can be very difficult. The many compound curves of large
rear windows and the tight door panels & seals of many
models makes automotive tinting a very trying task.

However, armed with the correct do it yourself window
tinting kit and the proper instruction offered in our
45
minute window tinting video, you can tint your car or
home's windows with the detail of a professional.
This is the finished do it yourself window tinting project of an
individual who was obviously uneducated on the correct automotive
tinting process.
Q: Will window tinting damage the defroster lines
on the rear window of a vehicle?
A: Absolutely not. If installed properly, window film will not
damage defroster lines. The only risk to defrosters is tint
removal. This too, if done in a specific, proper way will not
harm the defrosters. Careless removal can result in
defroster failure.
Q: How long should windows be left rolled-up after
window film is installed?
A: In most cases, about 3 days. The only exception would
be in cold weather, where windows should be left up for
approximately 1 week. This time allows the adhesive to
dry, preventing the film from peeling when window is
rolled down.
Q: Is window tinting a lucrative business?
A: Yes. Just open your local yellow pages to see how
many local tint shops are in your area. Summer is the
busiest time of the year, but sales are steady throughout
the calendar year. Many window tinting entrepreneurs are
making over $100,000 per year in personal income.
Q: How can someone get into the tinting business
w/no tinting experience?
A: A couple different ways. Some window tinting schools
offer onsite training. This training is typically 1-2 weeks
and typically costs between $2,500.00 and $5,000.00.
